The goal of the roadmap is to present a step-by-step guide to creating a preservation trades training program wherever you are. It can be used in a variety of ways including developing a training program through historic Main Street organizations, local preservation non-profits, and at historic sites. It can be used to establish a Corps focused on you community’s preservation needs. It can also be an overlay for existing trades school courses or a Job Corps general trades training program. It can even be used to train long-practicing trades workers who see the benefit of having the additional knowledge and skill set preservation trades training offers. No matter the route you choose, all program initiatives will involve the following elements outlined in the guide:
